About Us
Established in Brisbane in 1999 after moving north from Sydney, HiDesign Image Innovations quickly adapted to the magnificent lifestyle and business opportunities available in South East Queensland. However, Jason King’s (Owner, HiDesign Signs and Graphics) career and experience begun many years before this. In 1987 straight out of high school Jason attended the acclaimed Billy Blue Design School, working alongside some of the industry’s top performers for over 6 months. The office environment and desk were however too confining, and soon after Jason began an apprenticeship with the NSW Railcorp, Signwriting and Painting train carriages and stations across the Sydney metro rail network.
The late 80’s and early 90’s saw a gradual shift from traditional hand painted signage to the computer cut vinyl age, and NSW Railcorp wasted no time adopting this new technology, purchasing state of the art vinyl cutting machines and software (at a huge cost back then) for its depots. This transition slowly reduced the use of hand painted signs across the industry, although Jason continued to hone his skills with tafe studies in Showcard + Ticketwriting/Calligraphy, passing with commendations. After nearly 10 years of government employment it was time for Jason to place himself in the open market, working as a contract painter and signwriter for various companies over the next few years, before the decision to exit the hustle+bustle of Sydney and relocate to SEQ.
So, to 1999 and HiDesign’s foundation, Jason and his team quickly began to establish long lasting client relationships, with many clients also becoming close personal friends. With the new millennium came another shift in the industry, with the gradual maturity of Wide Format Digital Printers. Now clients had access to full colour reproduction of any image or colour they wished without the need for airbrushing, and HiDesign would soon acquire the bullet proof Japanese made “Roland” Digital printer and laminator to service this growing demand.
Fast Forward 19 years and HiDesign has now well and truly cemented its spot in the SEQ signage market, with a well-earned reputation for reliability, quality, honesty and affordability.
